Every decision — from equipment to appointment scheduling — is made to protect your vision and your time.

Advanced Diagnostics

We utilise the latest imaging techniques, such as fundus photography, biometry, and OCT, at Swadesh Eye Hospital to thoroughly analyse your eyes. These tests can help identify eye problems early and give our specialists a thorough understanding of your eye health so you can get the most precise, safe and effective treatment to suit your needs.

Expert Doctors

We have experienced eye care professionals and fellowship-trained ophthalmologists across a variety of specialities on our staff. Our experts can help you receive evidence-based treatment, kindness and a level of clinical excellence that you can trust in whether it's cataract surgery, retina treatment, glaucoma care or cornea services.

Affordable Care

Everyone should be able to experience quality eye care. Complete transparency in pricing, no hidden fees and full information on the costs of the treatment and insurance support. We want to make it easy, convenient and inexpensive for every patient to receive the best eye care without the hassle or delay of getting lost in the process.

Modern Operation Theatres

All our contemporary operation theatres are fitted with HEPA filters and laminar airflow to provide a sterile operating environment. These centres, coupled with cutting-edge ophthalmic surgical technology and safety measures, contribute to reducing the risk of infection and ensuring safe, accurate, and successful eye surgeries.

Personalised Care

Every patient's vision requirements are unique. Your eye condition, lifestyle and medical history are carefully examined before designing a treatment plan to meet your individual needs. All recommendations are designed to provide you with the most effective vision possible, so that you will be comfortable, confident, and healthy for your eyes.

About Swadesh

Two decades of restoring sight, one patient at a time

Swadesh Eye Hospital began as a single consultation room with a promise: that world-class eye care shouldn't require leaving home. Today we operate a full-scale surgical and diagnostic centre serving patients across West Bengal and beyond.

Our Mission

To make advanced, affordable eye care accessible to every family we serve.

Our Vision

A future where preventable blindness no longer exists in the communities around us.

Eye Care Services

Comprehensive care for every stage of vision

From routine check-ups to complex retinal surgery, every service is delivered under one roof.

Comprehensive Eye Check-up

It is important to have eye exams regularly to keep your eyes healthy. Our full eye exam can identify refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and other conditions early on so that they can be treated in time, which will help improve your overall eye health.

Cataract Surgery

Having the latest in cataract surgery with state-of-the-art cataract surgery techniques and premium intraocular lenses to help restore clear vision. Our well-trained surgeons specialise in safe, accurate procedures that provide quicker recovery, better visual results and better quality of life.

LASIK & Refractive Surgery

Enhance your eyesight with advanced LASIK and refractive surgery and eliminate dependence on glasses and contact lenses. It is after a comprehensive assessment that our specialists suggest the best vision correction method to assist you with the vision you are looking for, which is clear, sharp and comfortable.

Retina Care

Our retina doctors are proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases like diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, macular degeneration and retinal vein occlusion. The earlier the diagnosis and the more progressive the treatment, the more you will preserve your vision and avoid permanent sight loss.

Glaucoma Management

Many people do not have any symptoms when they have glaucoma. We provide full glaucoma screening, evaluation, therapy with drugs, laser and surgery to reduce eye pressure, save the optic nerve and maintain your vision.

Cornea Treatment

We offer a wide range of diagnosis and treatment services for all corneal conditions, such as corneal infections and injuries, keratoconus and dry eye disease. We aim to re-establish comfort, enhance vision and sustain long-term eye health.

Pediatric Ophthalmology

Children need special eye care to help promote visual development. Children's eye issues such as refractive errors, lazy eye (amblyopia), and squint (strabismus) are diagnosed and treated, and young patients are provided with the best possible vision from an early age.

Squint Correction

We provide full assessment and treatment for squint in children and adults. The treatment will vary according to the condition, and could involve glasses, vision therapy, or surgery to correct the eye alignment, binocular vision and appearance.

Oculoplasty

The oculoplasty services are dedicated to diseases of the eyelids, tear ducts and other structures around the eye. Personalised treatment plans are used to offer functional and cosmetic procedures to enhance eye comfort, appearance and overall eye health.

Optical Store

We have an in-house optical shop with a variety of trusted brands in the range of prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses and contact lenses. Expert guidance, precise lens fitting and trendy frame choices help you discover glasses that deliver a clear view, lasting comfort and fit your lifestyle.

Advanced Technology

Instruments that see what the eye alone cannot

Phaco Machine with Microscope

Phacoemulsification (Phaco) System paired with an Ophthalmic Operating Microscope is the gold-standard technology used in modern cataract and anterior segment eye surgeries. While diagnostic devices like OCT and Fundus cameras take pictures, the Phaco machine and Operating Microscope work together dynamically inside the operating room to restore vision by removing clouded natural lenses (cataracts) and implanting clear intraocular lenses (IOLs).

Microscope

While commonly referred to as a "microscope with a camera" by patients, the specialized medical instrument used in clinics is a Fundus Camera or a Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (SLO).

Humphrey field Analyser - Perimetry Machine

The Humphrey Field Analyzer (HFA) is the clinical gold standard for automated static perimetry—a non-invasive diagnostic test used to measure a patient's full visual field (side and central vision). While an Optical Biometer measures physical dimensions (like eye length) and Fundus cameras capture structural photographs, the Humphrey Field Analyzer tests functional vision by mapping differential light sensitivity across the retina.

Green laser photocoagulation system

Green Laser Photocoagulation

Green Laser Photocoagulation is a successful method of treating various retinal disorders including diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and vein occlusions. The laser helps to close damaged blood vessels and stop any more damage to the retina, which will help to protect vision and decrease the chance of permanent loss of sight.

YAG laser system for posterior capsulotomy

YAG Laser

The YAG laser is applied to treat opacification of the posterior capsule following cataract surgery and in some types of glaucoma. This procedure can be performed relatively quickly and is painless and does not require any further surgery, which means that patients are able to have a normal life earlier.
